Senior Training Specialist

I take pride in developing and designing excellent and engaging training courses and materials in support of the National Security Mission at the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) including various nuclear facilities across the Department of Energy complex.

I participated and initiated several projects to enhance our trainings to the learner including:

    • Implementing accessibility (508 compliance) features
    • Research and development team for augmented and virtual reality (VR/AR) – exploring its potential and how to best utilize it within the energy sector.

I helped plan and facilitate the EFCOG annual conference to help network and educate government energy training professionals.

    • 2021 – Lead graphic designer and a planning member for the Annual Meeting
      • Awarded Teamwork award with select other team members for contributions to the annual meeting
    • 2022 – Leading member of the task teams for the EFCOG Training Workgroup

Responsibilities include developing training documentation for training programs in support of various Nevada National Security Site facilities including various nuclear facilities. Also responsible for reviewing technical documents, codes, standards and regulations to excise requirements applicable to a specific task of developing training materials. I also develop technical training documents and reports; review technical training documents/curriculum developed by other professionals/instructors, edit them for compliance, quality, effectiveness, and correctness.

I was a member of multiple teams assigned to develop courses for a variety of subjects. A security clearance was required for this position because some of the content contained classified material.

Worked in the Online Advertising Department creating rich media for the newspaper website using Flash, gif animations for non-Flash environments, video advertisements and PSAs, and static advertisements. Worked with account reps to exceed expectations for client services and in-house projects. Designed web pages, created printed “leave-behinds” for sales. Analyzed metrics to increase user interaction for the ads I created. Note: While I worked at The Daily Sentinel, click-through rates for my ads were consistently 2% higher than the national average.

Designed and developed interactive eLearning solutions for clients to use in training. Flash, Photoshop and instructional design concepts were utilized to present relevant information in a clear, entertaining, and engaging manner. Our primary clients were medical institutions (surgical training videos), banking, real estate, and corporate HR departments.
